Electronic engineering deals with the research, design, integration, and application of circuits and devices used in the transmission and processing of information. Information is now generated, transmitted, received, and stored electronically on a scale unprecedented in history, and there is every indication that the explosive rate of growth in this field will continue unabated.
Electronic engineers design circuits to perform specific tasks, such as amplifying electronic signals, adding binary numbers, and demodulating radio signals to recover the information they carry. Circuits are also used to generate waveforms useful for synchronization and timing, as in television, and for correcting errors in digital information, as in telecommunications.

The department of Electronics & Communication Engineering was incepted in the year 2001 with the objective of producing high caliber technocrats and eminent professionals. It has very close link with many leading industries in the country & research laboratories. The department has organized several workshop and faculty development programs for the benefit of students and faculty members. It has been accredited by A.I.C.T.E, New Delhi. It has one of the best infrastructure including well equipped domain-specific laboratories with state-of-the-art equipments, computers and laptops. The department strives to achieve reputation at the regional as well as national level.
2010 - M.E Communication Systems was approved by AICTE with an intake of 18.
2011 - The intake of B.E Electronics & Communication Engineering was doubled to 120.
